After he moved to Los Angeles, he began to work with filmmaker James Cameron on a number of projects. He is the co-creator (along with Cameron) of the Fox sci-fi series Dark Angel. He became a co-executive producer and writer for the third season of Dexter in 2008. He was nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award at the February 2009 ceremony for Best Dramatic Series for his work on the third season of Dexter.
