    All Wikis have rules, and the Dark Angel Wiki is no exception. The rules for this site are listed below. You are expected to read them before editing pages.
    [[Wikipedia:Wikipedia|Wikipedia]], the free encyclopedia, is the largest and most successful wiki. This page lists some of the overarching guidelines that have helped make ''Wikipedia'' a success. You may like to consider them for this Wikia.

    ==Be Civil==
    # '''BE BOLD!''' in updating pages. Go ahead, it's a wiki! <br />Encourage others, including those who disagree with you, likewise to '''BE BOLD!'''
    # '''Be civil''' to other users at all times.
    # '''Ignore all rules'''. If the rules discourage you from improving or maintaining the wiki's quality, ignore them.
    # '''When in doubt, take it to the [[Help:Talk page|talk page]]'''. We have all the time in the world. Mutual respect is the guiding behavioural principle of Wikia and, although everyone knows that their writing may be edited mercilessly, it is easier to accept changes if the reasons for them are understood. If you discuss changes on the article's ''talk'' (or ''discussion'') page before you make them, you should reach consensus faster and happier.
    #'''[[Project:Copyrights|Respect copyright]]'''. Wikia uses the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Free_Documentation_License GNU Free Documentation License]. Everything you contribute must be compatible with that license.
    # '''Decent edit summaries''' and clear and transparent explanations are universally appreciated. Other editors need to understand your process, and it also helps you yourself to understand what you did after a long leave of absence from an article. Please state '''''what''''' you changed and '''''why'''''. If the explanation is too long, add more on the discussion page.
    #'''Assume good faith'''; in other words, try to consider that the person on the other end of the discussion is a thinking, rational being who is trying to positively contribute to the project — unless, and only unless, you have firm, solid, and objective proof to the contrary. Merely disagreeing with you is no such proof.
    #Particularly, '''don't revert good faith edits'''. [[Help:Reverting|Reverting]] is ''too'' powerful sometimes. Don't succumb to the temptation, unless you're reverting very obvious vandalism <small>(like "LALALALAL*&*@#@THIS_SUX0RZ", or someone changing "1+2=3" to "1+2='''17'''")</small>. If you really can't stand something, revert once, with an edit summary something like "(rv) I disagree strongly, I'll explain why in talk." and immediately take it to talk.
    # '''No personal attacks'''. Don't write that user such and so is an idiot, or insult him/her (even if (s)he ''is'' an idiot). Instead, explain what they did wrong, why it is wrong, and how to fix it. If possible, fix it yourself (but see above).
    # '''Be graceful''': ''Be liberal in what you accept, be conservative in what you do''. Try to accommodate other people's quirks the best you can, but try to be as polite, solid, and straightforward as possible yourself.
    # '''Sign your posts on talk pages''' using <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>, which gets replaced by your username and timestamp when you hit Save. But don't sign on mainspace articles.
    # '''Use the preview button'''; it helps prevents edit conflicts and mistakes.

    We are a community here; being rude to other users is not allowed. Constructive criticism is fine, but things such as personal attacks, like insulting or making fun of a user is not tolerated. If someone is, in your opinion, acting in an unpleasant or unproductive way, just explain your point of view. Swearing or using offensive language is also prohibited, and using such language will result in immediate blocking of the user in question.
    It's important to have fun... but try to make sure those around you have fun too!

    ==Editing Wars==
    {{Wikipedia|Wikipedia:Simplified Ruleset}}

    Don't compete with other users. Being overly protective of a certain page or pages, or undoing somebody else's work just because you disagree with them or don't like them, is not constructive or permitted. If you and another user disagree over how an article should be written, or whether some particular fact is true, talk about it. It's much easier to accept other people's changes when you know the reason for them.

    ==Vandalism==

    Vandalism is totally unacceptable. Offensive language, blanking pages, replacing images, adding false information or anything similar is strictly prohibited. Minor vandalism will result in a warning, however, more serious vandals will be blocked.

    Spamming (i.e. adding nonsense or advertisements) is a form of vandalism and will be punished.

    ==Fan Fiction==

    Fan-created or non-canon info, or theories, are not allowed. Writing made-up articles or adding such information to existing articles will result in a warning and, if necessary, blocking.

    ==Tense==

    All articles should be written in the '''past tense'''. Even though the Dark Angel story takes place in the future, it should be written as though it happened a long time ago. This will help ensure a uniform appearance for the articles and avoid confusion. For example, don't write, "Alec is always getting into trouble". Instead, say, "Alec ''was'' always getting into trouble". Articles should also be written from a '''neutral point of view''', meaning do not put your personal opinion in an article. For example, "Zack was a good leader", should be written as, "The X5's considered Zack a good leader".

    ==[[Project:Copyrights|Respect copyright]]==

    Wikia uses the [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Free_Documentation_License GNU Free Documentation License]. Everything you contribute must be compatible with that license.

    ==Miscellaneous==

    Try to be liberal, and accommodate other people's personalities and styles. Of course, if somebody has a bad attitude, that's different.

    Sign your posts on talk pages using <nowiki>~~~~</nowiki>, which gets replaced by your username and timestamp when you hit Save. But don't sign on mainspace articles.

    Use the preview button before you save your work. It helps prevent editing conflicts and mistakes.

    All Wikis have rules, and the Dark Angel Wiki is no exception. The rules for this site are listed below. You are expected to read them before editing pages.

    Be Civil[edit source]

    We are a community here; being rude to other users is not allowed. Constructive criticism is fine, but things such as personal attacks, like insulting or making fun of a user is not tolerated. If someone is, in your opinion, acting in an unpleasant or unproductive way, just explain your point of view. Swearing or using offensive language is also prohibited, and using such language will result in immediate blocking of the user in question.

    Editing Wars[edit source]

    Don't compete with other users. Being overly protective of a certain page or pages, or undoing somebody else's work just because you disagree with them or don't like them, is not constructive or permitted. If you and another user disagree over how an article should be written, or whether some particular fact is true, talk about it. It's much easier to accept other people's changes when you know the reason for them.

    Vandalism[edit source]

    Vandalism is totally unacceptable. Offensive language, blanking pages, replacing images, adding false information or anything similar is strictly prohibited. Minor vandalism will result in a warning, however, more serious vandals will be blocked.

    Spamming (i.e. adding nonsense or advertisements) is a form of vandalism and will be punished.

    Fan Fiction[edit source]

    Fan-created or non-canon info, or theories, are not allowed. Writing made-up articles or adding such information to existing articles will result in a warning and, if necessary, blocking.

    Tense[edit source]

    All articles should be written in the past tense. Even though the Dark Angel story takes place in the future, it should be written as though it happened a long time ago. This will help ensure a uniform appearance for the articles and avoid confusion. For example, don't write, "Alec is always getting into trouble". Instead, say, "Alec was always getting into trouble". Articles should also be written from a neutral point of view, meaning do not put your personal opinion in an article. For example, "Zack was a good leader", should be written as, "The X5's considered Zack a good leader".

    Respect copyright[edit source]

    Wikia uses the GNU Free Documentation License. Everything you contribute must be compatible with that license.

    Miscellaneous[edit source]

    Try to be liberal, and accommodate other people's personalities and styles. Of course, if somebody has a bad attitude, that's different.

    Sign your posts on talk pages using ~~~~, which gets replaced by your username and timestamp when you hit Save. But don't sign on mainspace articles.

    Use the preview button before you save your work. It helps prevent editing conflicts and mistakes.

    It's important to have fun... but try to make sure those around you have fun too!
