Jace was a member of Max's group of X5 series Manticore soldiers, but she refused to participate in the '09 escape.
Hunting Dr. Vertes
Jace was the X5 assassin assigned to kill a former member of Manticore's staff. While working her mission, Jace met up with Max, and after having been prevented from killing Vertes by Max, Jace would regroup. One her next attempt to kill Vertes, Jace was captured and learned that she was pregnant. She reveals that the baby's father was one of the scientists at Manticore.
She eventually leaves Manticore for somewhere in Mexico where she would have her baby. Gratefully she tells Max before she boards her bus, that no matter what gender the baby is, it will be named after its Aunt Max.
