PSY-OPS are techniques used by any set of groups to influence a target audience's value systems, belief systems, emotions, motives, reasoning, or behavior. Psy-Ops are used to induce confessions or reinforce attitudes and behaviors favorable to the originator's objectives, and are sometimes combined with black operations or false flag tactics. Target audiences can be governments, organizations, groups, and individuals.
The Psy-Ops division of Manticore dealt primarily with indoctrination, behavior programming, and memory modification of transgenics. It also concentrated on prognostication of probable behaviors. After Max and the other eleven transgenics in her unit initially escaped, all twelve clones were pulled in and placed in the care of Psy-Ops for six months of testing to make sure they were not also flight risks.
The Psy-Ops division utilized transgenics with exotic mental abilities as well as ordinary human psychologists and brainwashing technology. These transgenics included Mia, whose ability was Telecoersion, and Brain, whose ability was rapid information processing and heuristic prediction of future events. There may have been other transgenics there as well.
It is unclear whether the Psy-Ops transgenics had clones, as all of the others did.
