Hannah Sukova worked as a dietitian at the Manticore facility in Gillette, Wyoming. She discovered Max along the road leading to the facility and helped her hide from the guards and sneak out of the area. She left Max at her cabin to arrange a safe place for the young soldier, but when she tried to return, Manticore had sealed off the area and searched her vehicle, ordering her to wait in the car for several hours. By the time she got to the cabin, Max had left, moving on to go to ground.
Three months after the escape, Hannah was transferred to the Naval air station in Sedro Island, which was 80 miles away from Seattle. There, Max appeared to her, wanting to thank Hannah for her kindness and ask questions about her time in Manticore.
Unfortunately, Donald Lydecker had ordered Hannah to report if an escapee made contact, and Hannah obeyed reluctantly. Max figured out that she had warned Lydecker and told her to leave with her, saying that even though she followed the order, Lydecker would still kill her. After being chased through the forest by a military convoy, Max and Hannah were able to leave Sedro Island via boat.
Logan Cale provided Hannah with new identification and money to help her start a new life elsewhere, and as a gesture of thanks, Hannah told Max that her mother had rebelled against Manticore because she wanted to keep her.
